Jesse Lingard has been a man with a mission to show the world he’s one of England’s Brightest Young Stars. Currently on loan with West Ham United, the Manchester United product’s 9 goals in 10 appearances sees The Hammers in the thick of a race for the 4th spot on the Premier League Table and the final spot in the UEFA Champions League next season. With a crowded roster at his home club in Manchester it seems to be in his best interest to move elsewhere and forge a new path. As it stands, he currently has a list of suitors that are impressive to say the least.

Among the list of possible new destination’s, the obvious moves are surely an option. Clubs the like of Leicester City and Arsenal are among the top landing spots, but let’s take a moment to focus on one team that has been reported to be tracking “J-lingz” progress, Real Madrid. Yes, the La Liga giants who already have a plethora of talent are looking to add another weapon in the form of Lingard. Surely Lingard playing at the Santiago Bernabéu would make The Merengues surely a favorite to win the Champions League, along with the several domestic competitions they’re a part of, but the bigger conversation to be had is what this move could possibly do for the English National Team.

For years the English National Soccer team have continued to fall short in the World Cup, even though some would suggest they have an elite roster year after year. The majority of national team players opted to play for teams in the English Premier League rather than going abroad to play what could be seen as a different brand of soccer. Lingard going to Madrid could possibly change the entire trajectory of the national team while simultaneously opening a floodgate of you English Nationals going elsewhere in Europe to expand their game and bring a fresh approach to the game on the pitch. In theory Madrid/Lingard could be what finally “Brings it home” for the English Faithful.
